SSI Instructors are required to be affiliated with an SSI Dive Center. This ensures that your instructor will be monitored on an ongoing basis in regards to professional conduct and the maintenance of up to date quality training techniques.

All scuba dive training is targeted to your needs. The goal is to make sure you are confident and prepared.
Your training will focus on the four critical components of great scuba education: proper knowledge, proper skills, proper equipment, and proper experience. We call this the SSI Diver Diamond and it sets the foundation for quality scuba experiences.
Our unique approach to suba dive training is known as “comfort through repetition”. This means that we will work on each skill with you until each one becomes second nature. It will become like riding a bike. You won’t have to think about it you will innately know what to do. This type of scuba dive training ensures that you will retain what you’ve learned.

Open Water Diver Comprehensive
Your ticket to the underwater world – the OPEN WATER DIVER certificate. Your SSI Student Manual, DVD and water training sessions combined will help you learn everything you need to know to start your adventure the fun and correct way.
The SSI Student Manual includes study guide questions at the end of each section to help you retain your new knowledge and test your retention. During your SSI Open Water Diver training sessions you will learn all of the necessary skills and safe diving procedures to be a comfortable confident diver.
SSI Open Water Diver certification cards are recognized throughout the world. They entitle you to dive with other certified divers, enable you to purchase/rent equipment and obtain air fills anywhere you choose to dive.
The Dive Victoria Group Comprehensive course has an additional 4 boat dives giving you more time in the water with an instructor to help hone your skills and become a more comfortable diver. The course also teaches you advanced buoyancy techniques and surface marker deployment, invaluable information for all divers who wish to dive efficiently and safely.

Equipment Hire for Courses
To maximise the enjoyment and increase the comfort level of your diving experiences, we encourage you to have our staff personally fit you with your own diving equipment. In particular we recommend you to have your own personal soft wear items - mask, snorkel, boots and fins. Masks especially need to fit your individual face shape correctly, otherwise they have a habit of filling up with water and spoiling your fun. Equipment Hire is not included in any course costs, unless otherwise stated.
