Weather Situation

A low pressure system centred off the northern N.S.W coast is expected to move slowly southeastwards across the Tasman Sea on Friday. A high pressure system over the western Bight extends a ridge across Tasmania. The ridge will move northeastwards across Victoria on Friday as a weakening cold front passes through Bass Strait. The high will move from the Bight to lie near Adelaide by late Saturday then move slowly towards Victoria on Sunday as further fronts embedded in southwesterly flow cross Tasmania. On Monday the high will move to the east of Tasmania by late in the day.
