Today Dive Victoria launched its new site called Divebook. Divebook is a social networking tool specifically put together for scuba divers. With similar features to that of the popular Facebook, scuba divers from all walks of life can come and socialise online with like minded people. Check it out, invite your diving friends, share links, videos, pictures, leave messages, your thoughts and most important of all have fun!

Dive Victoria now offers Nitrox on tap in both its Queenscliff Harbour Store and Portsea Day Centre. What this means is you can now get Nitrox 32 fills are as easy to as get air fills. Don’t know what nitrox is? Contact us at Dive Victoria and we will be all to pleased to answer any questions you may have.

Learn to freedive with Dive Victoria

For most people holding your breath and diving to a depth of twenty metres does not come naturally, but nor did driving a car or playing golf. It is widely accepted that taking lessons to drive, or play golf, will fast track your ability to becoming better in both those skills; so why not freediving?

Dive Victoria has commissioned the best in the business to train a number of their staff to become freediving instructors. Michael Wells has been freediving for twenty years and an instructor for more than ten. He is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest breathe hold swim in an ocean cave, Fish Rock Cave, which also happens to be a world first. Unassisted, he can dive to a depth of eighty metres.

Michael believes it’s a great sport, or recreation. It all depends on how you want to look at it. It is actually quite a healthy sport that promotes physical fitness. If you cannot get to the sea it can also be enjoyed in a pool.

Dive Victoria is proud to offer it’s new addition to the public by giving its divers easier and closer access to its boats by opening its doors to the new Dive Victoria Harbour Store.

Acting as a day centre, it will offer customers a place to gear up/down, showers, repairs, sales and air fills. Dive Victoria now has 32% Nitrox on tap, it’s as easy to get a nitrox fill as it is air. Not certified in nitrox? Speak to one of our staff for information in taking one of our frequent nitrox courses. Once you dive on nitrox, you wonder why you never did it earlier !
